One of the major banks in the Netherlands needed a system to display real-time values of currency exchange rates on their Internet site.
The existing infrastructure provided the data as numbers in a relational database.
River installed the Real-Time Data Pump with the database feeder, a lightweight Java applet and several scripts on the web server.
The data is shown in a table, where table cells are highlighted on each update.
ASP pages are used to select the currency pairs to display.
The result: an efficient, reliable system that was deployed in just a few days.

The stock quote pages of its financial portal site EuroBench were turned into streaming quote monitors.
River assisted in making the connection to Tijd Beursmedia's existing data feed and
provided a customized applet which allows linking to stock detail information.
River was also the lead contractor for the development of TBM's Realtime Internet Streamer; a Data Pump based client/server application with
real-time quote monitors, charts, portfolio monitor, alerts, newsfeed and fundamentals for the demanding private
or corporate investor.
