One of the major banks in the Netherlands needed a system to display real-time values of currency exchange rates on their Internet site. The existing infrastructure provided the data as numbers in a relational database.
River installed the Real-Time Data Pump with the database feeder, a lightweight Java applet and several scripts on the web server. The data is shown in a table, where table cells are highlighted on each update. ASP pages are used to select the currency pairs to display.

The result: an efficient, reliable system that was deployed in just a few days.

Since 2005, the bank offers its stock trading clients an easy to use, highly interactive real-time stock quotes application, based on ActiveScreen (see below), built by River.

Tijd Beursmedia is the leading publisher of financial information in the Benelux. The stock quote pages of its financial portal site EuroBench were turned into streaming quote monitors.
River assisted in making the connection to Tijd Beursmedia's existing data feed and provided a customized applet which allows linking to stock detail information. River was also the lead contractor for the development of TBM's Realtime Internet Streamer; a Data Pump based client/server application with real-time quote monitors, charts, portfolio monitor, alerts, newsfeed and fundamentals for the demanding private or corporate investor.

Ecovision AB is the leading publisher of financial data and news in Sweden. Among its offerings are web services. The streaming version of these services is based on the River Real Time Data Pump.
River built a DLL interface between the Data Pump and Ecovision's proprietary Windows NT based quote platform. The solution not only publishes data on the net, it integrates access control and logging as well.

ShareCompany is the owner of deBeurs.nl, a popular website targeted at private investors in the Netherlands. A personal watchlist with streaming quotes was built using the Real-Time Data Pump.
River installed its server software and made the connection to the existing data source. A customized applet shows delayed or real-time quotes (depending on subscription type) and provides links to detailed stock information. ASP scripting was done by MediaSpring.
